You’ve probably heard me say it before:

You can handle this.

And I don’t say that lightly.

I know what it feels like to organize your entire life around trying to avoid something. To always be running the mental scenarios. Always scanning your body. Always needing to be hypervigilant and on alert. Planning escape routes. Often times feeling like — I can’t live like this anymore! I know what it feels like to want freedom and also feel terrified of what freedom might require.

Recovery doesn’t come from eliminating fear. Healing doesn’t happen by staying ‘safe.’

Recovery comes from feeling the fear, and moving forward anyway. Healing happens when you begin to choose values over fear.

I am not a therapist. I’m not here to diagnose you or fix you. I’m here to walk with you while you practice doing hard things — the exposures, the uncertainty, the uncomfortable and scary moments between “what if” and “I did it!”

Think of me as an exposure doula, your support, someone who helps refocus you to remember that fear can be present and it doesn’t have to rule your life.
